Astrosyn is a major supplier of stepper drives and controls in an expanding range designed to fulfil both popular and non-standard applications. The performance of a stepper motor is strongly influenced by the type of drive used (usually unipolar and bipolar). The number of lead wires of the motor determines the type of drive that can be employed.

Open Framed Drives
The Astrosyn open framed drives offer both unipolar and bipolar modes of operation and a wide range of phase current outputs. Bipolar drives generally achieve the highest stepper motor speed/torque performance, while unipolar drives provide a cost effective solution for routine applications.

Metal Cased Drives
The Astrosyn cased drive modules offer compact high current bipolar operation with optional microstepping.
