Poetry in Motion Control
New Astrosyn drivers perform with distinction

Two new high performance stepper motor drivers have been introduced by Astrosyn International Technology. These versatile microstepping units can control two- or four-phase hybrid steppers and are extremely powerful for their size.

Their advanced features make them particularly suited for motion control applications requiring low noise, low vibration, high speed and high precision. This performance is enhanced by the use of an advanced bipolar constant-current chopper circuit with current control technology.

The larger model, the P808, can generate drive currents adjustable from 2.8 A to 7.7 A with input voltages from +24 V to +90 V dc. Drive currents for the P403 can be varied from 1.3 A to 3.5 A for input voltages from +24 V to +40 V dc.

Both models are competitively priced and will retail significantly below prices for comparable products.

Microstepping is supported at up to 51 200 steps per revolution, with 14 step resolutions selectable in decimal and binary. Noise is minimised through the use of an inaudible 20 kHz chopping frequency, and their enclosures are fitted with integral heat sinks.
